Misc Info       I'm a big Rama fan, but I'm not that into Ranma/Akane matchups (I don't like the idea of 'abuse + stubbornness = love', and that's what tends to make up a majority of the Ranma/Akane fics I've read), so I tend to look toward other relationships whenever possible. I don't mind a Ranma/Akane pairing if it comes about in a manner that does away with the abusive tendencies Akane seems to be determined to never lose (at least as far as the anime series goes, the manga version actually has Akane mellowing out quite a bit by the end).
I could write a complete book about my likes and dislikes on the subject of Ranma, and fanfic in general, so I'll just say that I'm usually going to have one of two opinions about any individual fic: "I like it", or "it could be better". I try to always put a positive spin on any review, but there have been times where it was extremely difficult to actually come up with something positive to say. I'm also very flexible as far as writing styles go, but I do have my preferences (doesn't everyone?), and it's fairly easy to see if you take a look at my favorites to find them. I tend to like a bit of humor, and I love main characters that actually solve/fix the problems surrounding themselves, preferrably in a no-nonsense way (I like Powerful main characters, but not too powerful and/or uncaring).
Everyone has their pet peeves, and mine tends to be that I don't tend to like it when things change too drastically for no reason what-so-ever. For example: Nabiki all of a sudden decides she's fallen madly in love with Ranma and does everything in her power to make him hers, all because he sighs as he hands her the money he owes her. If it's explained better later (a magical spell placed on the currency, for instance), that's okay, but it shouldn't just hang there on its own in order to make other parts of the story work. It's also annoying when obvious words (like names) are badly, and constantly, mis-spelled throughout a fic. Those almost pale in comparison with my main problem: Baseless leaps of logic and/or jumps in logic during conversations. Nothing is more distracting than to have to go back and re-read a conversation and add a few paragraphs/sentences to it in order for it to make sense (this doesn't take into account a conversation with an insane person).
That's about all I can say at the moment and keep some semblance of coherancy to this (what little there may be) without it degrading into the type of writing style I dislike.
